WILSONART® LAMINATE over BIRCH MULTIPLY - F4 & F4C

What we love about this material:

  1. Wilsonart laminate is GREENGUARD certified.

  2. Multiply substrate is CARB II compliant and very durable.

  3. PolyBak backer material is GREENGUARD certified and contains no added formaldehyde.

  4. Exposed edge is finished with a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) clearcoat finish.

  5. Hundreds of colors and styles available in standard palette and limitless possibilities with custom graphics.

  6. Custom laminates (created with customer supplied graphics) have short lead times and come with a proof print to ensure satisfaction.

  7. Laminate provides a low-maintenance and highly durable surface at a low price point.

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. The laminate is petroleum-based (plastic).

  2. This type of fused material makes end-of-life disassembly virtually impossible.

  3. Some of our multiply sources are shipping out of Europe.

What we love about this material:

  1. Wilsonart laminate is GREENGUARD certified.

  2. Particle board core is 100% recycled and CARB II compliant.

  3. PolyBak backer material is GREENGUARD certified and contains no added formaldehyde.

  4. Non-PVC BioEdge edge band is made from corn polymer.

  5. Hundreds of colors and styles available in standard palette and limitless possibilities with custom graphics.

  6. Custom laminates (created with customer supplied graphics) have short lead times and come with a proof print to ensure satisfaction.

  7. Laminate provides a low maintenance and highly durable surface at a low price point.

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

FORBO® LINOLEUM on PARTICLEBOARD with BIOEDGE™ - F6

What we love about this material:

  1. Forbo is USDA Certified 100% biobased; made from pine rosin, wood flour, linseed oil, limestone, jute, and pigments.

  2. Forbo is warm to the touch, easy to clean, and features naturally inherent antimicrobial and antistatic properties.

  3. Forbo’s sustainable, water-based Topshield 2 finish provides exceptional performance against soiling, staining, scratching, and scuffing.

  4. Multiply substrate is CARB II compliant and very durable.

  5. Exposed edge and bottom is finished with a low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) clearcoat finish.

  6. Hundreds of colors and styles available.

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. This type of fused material makes end-of-life disassembly virtually impossible.

  2. Although it is widely distributed in the U.S., Forbo is originally manufactured in Europe.

  3. Some of our multiply sources are shipping out of Europe.

What we love about this material:

Powder Coat over Recycled MDF - F8

What we love about this material:

  1. Powder coated tops emit zero VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).

  2. MDF core has a minimum of 86% recycled content with wood fiber from certified sustainable forests and is CARB II compliant.

  3. Our powder coated tops are manufactured in Minnesota.

  4. Seamless edges are moisture resistant and easy to clean.

  5. Powder coating is electrostatically adhered (no solvents) and baked to final finish. Overspray is reused, not wasted.

  6. Custom colors are possible...contact Baltix for more information.

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. The powder coating is petroleum-based (plastic).

  2. This type of fused material makes end-of-life disassembly virtually impossible.

  3. Due to the smoothness of the material, it may show some surface wear in high-use areas.

SOLID HARDWOODS (WALNUT, MAPLE, HICKORY, & BEECH) - F17

What we love about this material:

  1. All materials are sourced and manufactured in the USA.

  2. Superior craftsmanship with short lead time.

  3. Highly durable and easy to clean and maintain.

  4. NSF food-safe and moisture-resistant.

  5. CARB II compliant with no added formaldehyde 

  6. Following multiple years of use, this hardwood material can be sanded and refinished 

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. Trees are not as rapidly renewable as we would like them to be. However, the hardwood species that we do offer are harvested with best practices. 

Paperstone® - F15

What we love about this material:

  1. PaperStone is made from FSC-certified 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

  2. PaperStone’s durable, non-porous surface provides a lifetime of stain resistance and the product absorbs virtually no water.

  3. PaperStone is saturated with proprietary PetroFree™ phenolic resin containing ingredients like cashew nut shell liquid. Created specifically to meet strict sustainability requirements.

  4. GREENGUARD certified, contains no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).

  5. Made in America.

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. Heavier weight means more fuel for shipping.

  2. Limited color palette and develops a patina over time (which isn’t necessarily bad... just something to be aware of).

  3. Not totally maintenance-free; an occasional application of Bee’s Wax is recommended.

CAMBRIA® QUARTZ - F18

What we love about this material:

  1. Cambria is 93% pure, natural quartz, one of the hardest and most abundant minerals on Earth

  2. Cambria is hand crafted from start to finish to ensure the highest quality throughout the fabrication process

  3. Because Cambria is nonporous, it helps enhance nosocomial infection control on hygienic work surfaces

  4. GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low VOC emissions into indoor air

  5. Radon Free

  6. Contributes to LEED points

  7. NSF 51 certified safe for use as a food preparation surface

  8. The primary source for Cambria’s quartz is North America to help reduce the carbon footprint

  9. Scrap material is used as road base on local construction projects

What we’re not so crazy about (because no material is perfect):

  1. Natural quartz is heavy and requires more fuel during the shipping process

  2. The resin binder is made from petroleum, a nonrenewable resource
